Beneficio San Vicente is based in Santa Barbara, Honduras, near Lake Yojoa—the country’s only lake. More than a traditional exporter, San Vicente serves as a specialty-coffee hub, working with everything from SHG Communal Lots and regional community lots to individual farm micro-lots.
They primarily partner with smallholder farmers averaging around 3 hectares of coffee production, growing varieties including Pacas, Catuai, Parainema, Bourbon, IHCAFE90, and Lempira.
For their SHG Communal Lots, farmers generally produce washed coffees. Cherries are de-pulped, fermented in open tanks for roughly 16 hours, then washed and dried either in traditional greenhouse structures for 1–2 weeks or using mechanical dryers. The result is a consistently sweet, balanced, and approachable coffee that’s a pleasure to drink.
